Zi Kien and his mother Ah Mui only have each other in their life until one day Ah Mui started dating Mr. Lee. Zi Kien felt his place in Ah Mui’s life is threaten, and he started to change himself.
Zi Kien who is tiny and childish compared to his peers, began to imitate Mr. Lee and act like an adult. Often he looked ridiculous but everyone around him pretended not to be bothered. He also started dating Chuin, his classmate. He also spied on Ah Mui and Mr. Lee.
Sometime he becomes vegetarian, and sometime he made the vegetarians eat meats. Sometime, he is very sweet to his mum, and sometime, he will deliberately have argument with his mother and pretend nothing happened on the next day.
Zi Kien’s mum was not bothered by all this sudden change until one night Zi Kien caressed her hair when she was drunk. The next day, Zi Kien’s mum got her hair “cut”. Zi Kien realised that his mum has noticed his weird action; he started to control himself. Zi Kien’s mum understand that that was a love expressed from her son.
They care so much for each other, it is as if they are always in the anxiety, knowing very well they are capable of hurting each other. So they sometime pretend to be not care, or they pretend to be not angry. Just to not hurt one another.
In the end, they live their pretended life together, just like everyone else. It is a happy ending.
