Daang Dokyu

DaangDokyu is A Festival of Philippine Documentaries. DaangDokyu showcases an inclusive program of Philippine documentaries from the early days of Philippine cinema and television to contemporary times.

DaangDokyu is a festival celebrating the hundred years since the country started capturing in film the stories of its islands and the Filipinos. It strives to be a significant gathering of the country's best documentarists for film and tv together with leading change-makers in culture, arts, and education.

Headed by filmmakers Jewel Maranan, Baby Ruth Villarama, Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala, and Monster Jimenez, the festival aims to reach a broader audience for documentaries and offer the 'docu way' to take stock of how we are as a nation and where we are headed.

DaangDokyu will exhibit films curated and presented with Q&As with filmmakers. It will hold a supplemental exhibition presenting the expanse of Philippine documentaries; launch a book on Philippine documentaries; and will culminate with the first-ever Philippine Documentary Forum, which will be the largest gathering of documentary filmmakers in the country.

The festival is slated from March 16-21, 2020 at Cine Adarna at the University of the Philippines.
