Rapid Eye Movement

Rapid Eye Movement

Rapid Eye Movement is a quarterly film screening event, organised by a collective of artists and filmmakers, aiming to enrich the diversity of film-screening scenes in Thailand. Each film screening will be programmed within specific engaging frameworks both conceptually and thematically, varying from one screening to another to explore a wide spectrum of filmic possibilities.

The project focuses on short and medium-length films that are usually shown in 􀋡lm festivals, exhibitions, or limited circles, which are rarely screened in Thailand due to the lack of consistent showcase platforms. The objective is to feature both local and international films that maintain noteworthy quality yet are underrepresented or locally unavailable in order to broaden the preconception and promote critical thinking towards the medium of film. Selected films will range from experimental narrative film/video, artist’s film, video art, experimental documentary, essay film, performance film, and animation, to experimental media.
