OPEN SHORTS

SPONSORSHIP OF EVENT

Open Shorts will bring to the audience a closer and fresher look on short films. It introduces new short films of young filmmakers, new voices of young directors from Vietnam and Southeast Asia, connecting filmmakers with film lovers and contributing to the development of a stronger young filmmakers community in Southeast Asia.

The program will emphasize on creating an interactive forum, where young filmmakers are able to exchange and share experiences, leading to improving professionalism and creating more quality works. The long-term goal is to develop the events into a trustworthy and quality short film festival in the region.

In the Screening section, monthly public screenings of short films will introduce a selection of shorts from Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries to public audience. These are carefully selected shorts focusing on the latest works of young directors from different countries, styles and languages. In addition, directors, producers, DPs and other crew members will have the chance to exchange with audiences via Q&A session both in-the-spot and/or online after the screenings.

In the Workshop section, every 2 months the team organize a workshop dedicated to essential topics for young filmmakers. These topics directly relate to the development, pre-production, production and distribution of short films. They will provide audiences with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to learn and connect with others, especially for the young filmmakers this would be the place they could find resources to enhance their own short projects.

The two sections of the project will be implemented with close relation to each other, helping the audience to have a better understanding of the process of making short films, to watch short films in a deeper, more multidimensional way. For filmmakers, screenings will help bring their works to local and Southeast Asian audiences, creating new inspirations and encouragement for them in their path.
